Ceiling Fan Installation.
For St. Lucie and Martin County residents the simple ceiling fan has been a fixture not to be without ever since this area was established. Prior to the invention of air condition, the electric ceiling fan was literally a life saver for South Florida residents. Ever with the availability of air conditioning, its efficiency makes it a valuable device, all year round. With energy costs constantly on the rise, now is a great time to install a ceiling fan in your home or office. A ceiling fan is a cost-effective and energy-efficient way to cool down your space.
Ceiling fans save energy in both summer and winter. In summer, a ceiling fan creates “wind-chill” when run counter-clockwise and lowers the temperature by one or two degrees. These few degrees can be “bought” for less energy than with an air conditioner. As the fan cools you rather than the air, it need only be run when you’re in the room.
In the winter, if you reverse the direction so that the blades spin clockwise, the fan will pull warm air from the ceiling down into the room, again, creating savings on your energy bills. Changing the direction of spin is a matter of pushing a button.
Circulation is perhaps the most effective use of a ceiling fan. Regardless of the room temperature, warm air rises to the ceiling, and cold air sinks to the floor. Depending on where your heat or cooling source is located, there are also hot and cold spots in a room. By evenly circulating the air throughout a room, a series of rooms, or even an entire building, ceiling fans can eliminate these hot and cold spots and provide a much more comfortable climate.
Light kits can be added to increase the usefulness of many ceiling fans. A wide range of both fan and light kit styles are available, providing choices that will contribute to the beauty of any room.
Ceiling Fan Installation Procedure.
Hanging a ceiling fan is not mechanically difficult; however, they are usually fairly heavy, so it’s a good idea to have a helper assist you.
Ceiling fans need to be properly anchored to an electric ceiling box that’s designed to hold a heavy fixture. It not only holds the wiring, but also supports the full weight of the fan. If you replace a simple light fixture, the box will likely need to be replaced with one rated for a ceiling fan.
We will be happy to install a fan of your choice that you have purchased.
